TCL has announced that it sold 1.1 million LCD TV sets in May – a flat result YoY. Smart TV sales, however, were up 53% to 260,000 units. TV sales fell 1.5% in China (to 442,500) and rose 1% overseas (to 658,000).

France Télévisions has said that its UltraHD test channel will be active throughout June. The company was testing UltraHD transmissions at the French Tennis Open tournament, which ended earlier this month. The channel will be run in co-operation with Paris-based digital innovation festival Futur en Seine. It will temporarily replace the Fransat UltraHD demo channel.
