The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), a UK R&D institute, has shown off a flexible OLED lighting panel in a video. The panel was produced at the CPI’s own prototype line, which supports both vapour deposition and soluble OLED materials.
IDTechEx says that the market for printed and flexible electronics in automotive applications will grow from around $400 million this year, to more than $5.5 billion in 2026. Asian sources say that LG Display is raising its monthly capacity at LCD facilities. Capacity at its Guangzhou-based facilities will be raised from 90,000 substrates to 120,000 by the end of the year. Local media reports claim that the deal was signed before LCD oversupply became an issue for the firm.
