Apple Car Leader to Leave Company

Steve Zadesky, head of Apple’s electric car project, is leaving the company, according to The Wall Street Journal‘s sources. A person familiar with the matter said that Zadesky is leaving for personal, rather than performance-based, reasons.

Zadesky has worked on both the iPod and iPhone, having been with Apple since 1999. He began work in the electric car division in 2014.

In related news, Apple Insider reports that Apple is unhappy with the direction and progress of the electric car project. The company has apparently implemented a hiring freeze on the division, following a review by Jony Ive.
