Applied Materials Inc. has reported its first quarter results, posting a net profit of $348 million on turnover of $2.3 billion, which compares with a net profit of $253 million on turnover of $2.2 billion in Q1 of last year.
Following LG Display’s (LGD) recent announcement that it planned to expand production capacity at its 8G OLED plant (LG Display Aiming to Make 600,000 OLED TV panels), sources in Korea have estimated that the cost of expanding production is around $915 million.
