SES Astra has extended its UltraHD demo channel for continental Europe to the UK and Ireland. It is broadcast using UltraHD Phase 1 specifications and encoded in the HEVC Main 10 standard.

At ISE, we spoke to someone demonstrating HEVC who said that they had returned a number of the TV sets they had bought to test HEVC as the sets did not work correctly. (BR)
