LGD Succeeds in Doubling Flexible Capacity

Universal Display has revealed some details about LG Display’s flexible OLED capacity.

During a conference call with investors, UDC said that LGD’s current monthly capacity is 14,000 substrates from its G4.5 fab – more than double the 6,000 substrates it was producing in 2014 (Display Monitor 21 No 5).

UDC says that LGD is using a red phosphorescent OLED (PHOLED), with blue and green fluorescent materials. The company believes that LGD will adopt a green PHGOLED in its next-gen products, enabling them to cut display power consumption by around 25%.
