As many as 25% of older French TVs could be affected by the country’s switch from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4, says GfK. The firm estimates that about 10 million of the 40 million sets sold pre-2008 will not be able to decode a TV signal compressed with an MPEG-4, and will need to be changed.

The La Défense metro station in Paris was fitted with new LED tiles from Barco at the end of last year. Located in the central hall, the 46 m² display uses 134 of Barco’s V4 series (4mm-pitch) tiles. It was installed by system integrator Serelec, with a DV-100 image processor and Athena scaler.
