Ziggo’s Wrist Slapped Over Data Collection

Following a report by the Dutch Data Protection Authority (CBP), Ziggo has stopped collecting its customers’ personal data. The company was collecting data using interactive services to learn about customers’ TV viewing habits. Such collection is only allowed on an opt-in basis. Ziggo has since introduced measures to make the collected data anonymous.
