We heard about Netflix’s HDR plans earlier this year (Netflix has HDR Plans), and the company has now fulfilled them. Marco Polo is the first series available in the HDR (Dolby Vision) format; Marcel’s Daredevil will follow. Netflix also supports HDR10.
Hisense has revealed two new UltraHD TVs for the German market, just before the European Championship football tournament. Both the 65″ M5500 and 433″ M3000 support DVB-T2 and HEVC decoding. Dune HD has chosen Sigma Designs’ SMP8758 SoC and Z-Wave technology to use in its new hybrid media player, the Solo 4k. The ARM-based processor enables UltraHD (via HEVC), IPTV and VoD content playback, while the Z-Wave feature makes the player compatible with the more than 1,500 existing Z-Wave devices on the market today.
