China’s Oppo and Gionee, among other vendors, have increased their AMOLED panel orders to Samsung Display. According to reports, the increased orders have been prompted by SDC cutting the price of its AMOLED panels.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is meeting with Iranian distributors to discuss the distribution of its iPhone in the country.
Apple’s iPhone chip orders are slowing, say sources at IC design houses. Orders are set to fall from 50 million in Q4’14 to 44 – 46 million in Q1’15. Order visibility is also said to be reducing at a gradual pace, say downstream manufacturer sources.

BOE is looking to Chinese vendors for growth, say Asian reports, following Samsung’s disappointing smartphone sales. Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE and Coolpad are among the vendors named.
