Laser Shot Debuts Helimod Mark II Simulator

Laser Shot (Orlando, FL) is a simulation system integrator and software provider. At I/ITSEC 2014, the company demonstrated its new Helimod Mark II platform, which is now being used by Roy Aircraft & Avionics Simulation Inc.

The Helimod Mark II uses the company’s X-Plane software and avionics (Garmin 530 GPS, DME, Transponder, etc.) from Precision Flight Controls. The system uses two PC’s, three 60″ monitors (in portrait orientation to provide an excellent vertical field of view) and comes with a fully operational instructor station for on-the-fly weather changes, instigation of failures and after-action review. The high fidelity flight model is from Presagis (Helisim software) and the entire platform is mounted on a motion control system from D-Box (not shown in photo).

This is a mission rehearsal and tactical training system that supports multiple networked simulators at a fraction of the cost of traditional simulation.
