ABI Predicts 1.1 Billion Pay-TV Subs by 2020

The worldwide pay-TV market grew 4% in 2014, to reach 923.5 million subscribers, says ABI research. However, weak exchange rates kept revenue growth lower, ending the year at $257 billion. ABI expects the market to reach 1.1 billion subscribers in 2020. Satellite and IPTV grew the fastest, while cable and terrestrial had slower growth rates.
