iFixit Confirms Apple Watch Display Source

A teardown of the Apple Watch by iFixit has confirmed that the product uses a flexible AMOLED screen from LG Display, which had been suspected but not proven until now. The article (http://tinyurl.com/pn2h3dr) also revealed the resolution of the Watch: 340 x 272 for the smaller model and 390 x 312 for the larger one.

Bloomberg Claims SDC’s A3 Line Has Started Production

According to Bloomberg, Samsung Display has begun to produce flexible OLED displays at its G6.5 A3 line – which was expected to begin production in June. Everdisplay Linked to Huawei

China’s Everdisplay has updated its AMOLED roadmap, revealed last year (Everdisplay Plans New Product For Every Quarter), with news that it will release a 1.4″ circular display. OLED-Info speculates that this means that Everdisplay produces the display in Huawei’s upcoming smartwatch. A larger 8″ AMOLED panel will also be released later this year.

JDI to Invest $2.5 Billion in Smartphone Panels
