Acer has sold 70,000 units of its Liquid Leap smartband (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 18) in the USA, during a 24-hour promotion with a TV shopping channel earlier this month.

ADSL customers of Vodafone Deutschland are now being offered a new UltraHD STB that can be used to access the company’s IPTV and VoD services. The box is called The TV Centre, and features time-shift TV and a 500GB HDD. It also features DLNA.

The UltraHD Forum has signed 15 new members since IBC in September, bringing its total to more than 45 companies. New sign-ups include Broadcom, Sky, Fox, DirecTV, Sigma Designs and Marvell.
