Exertis Adds Samsung Displays

Exertis in the UK has signed a new partnership with Samsung to distribute the Korean company’s Smart Signage DME-BR/BM Series interactive displays. The displays are available as Hand Touch in 65″, 75″ and 82″ sizes (DM65/75/82E-BR), while the Hybrid Touch (DM82E-BM) is available in 82″.

Pegatron Predicts Record Turnover in 2015

Pegatron says it expects to achieve record turnover this year, following last year’s NT$1.02 trillion ($32.6 billion), thanks to the company’s strategy of widening its portfolios of communication, IT and consumer electronics products. Sony Blames Qualcomm for Flagship Overheating

Following tests by Dutch website GSMinfo, Sony has admitted that its Z3+ smartphone (Xperia Z4 in Japan) is suffering from overheating issues. The company has blamed Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chip for the problem. Sony will release a fix, in a software update, in the summer.

Regulator Aims to Halt Illegal Transmissions

Greek regulator EETT is seeking to end illegal analogue transmissions in the country. Several local municipalities are still permitting these broadcasts to take place for viewers outside of the DTT coverage area. EETT is working to end the transmissions and ensure that all households have access to TV services.

French Regulator Opens DTT Consultation

ARCEP, the French regulator, is updating its rules regulating the DTT transmission market, for the 2015 – 2018 period. The proposed new rules reflect ARCEP’s belief that the DTT broadcast market is shrinking. They aim to encourage competitiveness and discourage unnecessary investments.

Alibaba Group, one of China’s largest businesses, will launch an online video streaming service this summer. It will be known as Tmall Box Office (TBO).
