Asus Lowers Notebook Forecast on Fluctuating Exchange Rates

Asus has lowered its notebook shipment target for Q3, says the Taipei Times. The company is apparently aiming to ‘lower sales exposure’ in some emerging markets to prevent losses due to currency exchange rates. Asus’s previous estimate was for 11.6% QoQ growth, to 4.8 million units; now lowered to 6% growth (4.56 million units).

Rumour: SDC to Unveil ‘New UltraHD Technology’

According to Korea’s Digital Daily, Samsung Display has developed a new UltraHD panel technology, based on an RGBW sub-pixel architecture. STMicro Addresses Entry-Level HEVC

STMicroelectronics has a new family of chipsets for entry-level set-top boxes (STBs) with HEVC support. The HD HEVC Liege3 family comprises satellite (STiH337/STiH332), cable (STiH3372) and IPTV variants (STiH307/STiH3302).
