Reports from Taiwan have said that AUO’s 8.5G fab in Houli, is due to add around 25K to 30K substrates per month from the first quarter of 2016 – representing around a 5% boost in the firm’s overall capacity. AUO continues to push large panels into digital signage and meeting room displays.

Reuters has added to the rumours about Apple’s plans for iPhone displays. The news agency has reported the rumours that Apple is close to finalising deals with Samsung Display and LG Display for OLED displays for its phones. Reuters quotes Electronics Times and Nikkei as the sources of the rumours.
