Taiwan-based supply chain sources claim that Xiaomi will delay the launch of its first notebook (previously rumoured to be 15″, most recently said to be 12.5″) until Q2’16 – one quarter behind the original schedule. Volume production will begin in May and it will be launched in June at the earliest.
United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) reported net profit of NT$3.16 billion ($96 million), a decline of 30% YoY from NT$4.56 billion. Turnover was NT$33.85 billion ($1.03 billion), a 9% decline from NT$37.24 billion ($1.12 billion). For the full year 2015, net profit was NT$13.45 billion ($403.5 million). Turnover for the period was NT$144.83 billion ($4.35 billion).
