China’s LeEco (formerly LeTV) has formally opened its new 7,400m² North American headquarters in San Jose. As well as being able to house 800 employees, the facility will be the future home of LeEco’s autonomous driving research centre: the LeFuture AI Institute.
Amazon reported Q1 2016 net profit of $513 million, compared to a net loss of $57 million in same quarter of the previous year. Turnover was $29.1 billion, up 28% YoY from $22.7 billion. Fire tablet sales doubled compared to the previous year quarter.
Pixelworks reported Q1 2016 net loss of $8.6 million, up 152% YoY from $3.4 million. Turnover was $11.2 million, down 23% YoY from $14.4 million. Inventory adjustments in emerging markets and a $4.3 million restructuring charge impacted turnover and net profit respectively.
