Several sources, most notably Korea’s UBI Research, have claimed that Samsung’s Galaxy S8 phone will have an UltraHD AMOLED display. A new flip-case smartphone is under development by Samsung, according to a rumour. The code-named SM-W2017 will be a successor to last year’s SM-W2016, and like its predecessor will feature a high-end Exynos 8890 SoC. This is because the handset will apparently feature two 3.9″ AMOLED screens.
Korea’s UBI Research estimates that Samsung Display’s OLED shipments now represent 95% of the global total, as rising numbers of smartphone makers adopt its AMOLED panels.
