Japan’s Nikkei newspaper says that inventory shortages are causing the price of LCD TV panels to rise, especially in 42″ and smaller sizes. IHS has reported similar news in recent months. Prices for 32″ open-cell LCD panels, for instance, were up about 10% MoM in July, while 40″-42″ panels were up between 1% and 5%. … Read more
Exertis’ mobility division has been holding talks with Alcatel to distribute their handsets. The talks that started two months ago have reached an advanced stage. Since 2008, Exertis has been distributing handsets for Acer, Doro, Huawei, Kazam, Lenovo, LG, Medion, Microsoft, Samsung, Sony, Wileyfox and ZTE.
D.C. Wang, C.E.O of RitDisplay, is optimistic about the PMOLED market. The company is expecting a 20% growth in the second half of 2016. Wang also said that the company is investing in flexible PMOLED technologies and will introduce first product in 2017 which will then go into mass production in 2018.

Sources in China claim that LG Display is considering changing its WOLED TV structure. Currently, the company uses yellow and blue OLED materials to create a white OLED, but the sources claim that the company is investigating an RGB mix. Such a move would enable a wider colour gamut and higher colour purity.
