Unfortunately, some comments about the Planar/Leyard touch system didn’t make it into last week’s issue (Leyard’s Planar Shows Seamless LED Touch Wall). Here they are:
The technology, as you would expect, is infrared optical and the surface, which is designed to work over the standard Planar/Leyard 54″ cabinets, can be removed for maintenance or replacement of the cabinets. A 196″ system costs around $250,000 but with structure, cables and installation, the cost, we heard, is likely to be nearer $300,000.
