Two Airport Expansion Plans Announced

Memphis International Airport is to redesign and update its B concourse with consolidation of all airline, retail and food and beverage businesses. The modernisation will include the addition of wider corridors, moving walkways, larger boarding areas, higher ceilings and more natural lighting. It is estimated the project will cost $214m and should complete in 2021.

Another airport modernisation plan is being carried out by British Airways in a $65m redesign for JFK’s terminal 7. The redesign at JFK will be completed by the end of 2018 and is to include a new check-in concourse. Business class, First, and Gold and Silver executive club card holders will have renovated lounges and a renovated retail environment and new gate seating will be included.
