Unilumin Aims at Control Rooms

Unilumin was showing the 6K set up that it had previously showed at ISE. The company is targeting control room applications and it reckons that it was the first to really develop high grey scale at low brightness, which is a pre-requisite in this application. Each colour channel can support 16 bits of grey scale; moving down to 20% peak brightness brings this down to 12 bits. The company has its own controllers.

Front access is essential for control rooms, and Unilumin can do this. The company has shipped 2.6mm-pitch products, and has had projects at 1.2mm and 0.8mm in China. The company said that it is developing 110″, 138″ (both FullHD) and 185″ (UltraHD) monolithic displays and it could be in mass production, it told us, if there are the right clients. A 138″ monolithic display was on the booth.
