Sunbrite DS Shows 2,500 nit Outdoor Display

Sunbrite DS, the California-based company which manufactures outdoor digital signage and TV displays, announced two new devices at Infocomm 2015.

The first LCD display is the 55″ Marquee with a brightness of up to 2,500 cd/mm². The display has a contrast ratio of 4,000:1 and operates from -40ºF (-40ºC) to 122ºF (50ºC) during operation and up to 140ºF (60ºC) in the non-operating state. The display will be available from mid-August and will cost $7,895 in landscape mode and $8,895 in portrait mode. The price difference stems from the difference in the cooling system and the internal air flow. This also means that the orientation is fixed for the lifetime of the product. The Marquee display is aimed at digital signage applications.

The company also announced its 42″ Pro series outdoor FHD TV, providing 700 cd/mm² for direct sunlight readability. The temperature range is the same as for the above display. The TV is available now for $3.895. – NH
