Outdoor Plus has commissioned and installed a new LED screen from Lighthouse Technologies. The unit, in East London, is mounted on a custom-made steel tower near the A12 road. It is 12.16m x 2.88m and, as one of Lighthouse’s Impact 10 products, has a 10mm pixel pitch.
Primesight is rolling out a new roadside billboard collection in the UK, called Network. The first phase saw three units installed in London (Shoreditch High St., Wandsworth Bridge Road and Commercial Road), one in Glasgow (M8) and one in Edinburgh (Salamander St.). The main contract to operate street furniture throughout Stockholm has been awarded to JCDecaux. Amazon’s trade-in service for old products has been expanded in Germany. Used feature phones, smartphones and tablets can now be exchanged, in addition to books, videogames, DVDs and Blu-rays. Customers will receive the value of the trade-in as credits on their Amazon account.

AUO is supplying 30% of the 1.6″ LCD panels for Sony’s Smartwatch 3, say Asian sources. Innolux will also supply some panels, as Sony is apparently increasing its orders from Taiwanese makers.

Sources in Asia have said that LG has reduced its OLED TV sales target. The company set a target of 5 million sets in June (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 25), but has apparently now dropped that to 800,000.
