Intel Updates Convertible Reference Design

Intel has expanded the scope of its $350 – $400 convertible reference designs to cover a new size segment: 12.5″. Additionally, the reference design has been updated to adopt the new 14nm fifth-generation Broadwell-based Core processors (which were being used by many vendors at CES and will start shipping in Q1).

Acer has appointed Gavin Parrish as UK & Ireland country manager, replacing Marco Andresen who moves to take on a role within the European management team. The new appointment comes after the sudden departure of Acer EMEA president Luca Rossi and the appointment of Emmanuel Fromont as his replacement.      

LG Takes Part in Mass Fast Food Signage Rollout

650 McDonald’s locations in the USA are receiving a digital signage upgrade from LG, in collaboration with Stratacache. The new integrated menu board solution uses Stratacache’s ActiVia for Media 4.0 software, installed on a 47″ LCD display. The displays have 1920 x 1080 resolution, and at least five will be installed in each restaurant.
