HbbTV is Big in Germany

Dataxis estimates that the Televisa Group passed 10 million pay-TV subscribers for the first time in its history in Q4’14. At the end of Q3’14, the company had almost 9.9 million pay-TV subs. The acquisition of Mexican cable operator Telecable, in January, will add almost 400,000 additional subscribers when it is approved by regulators.
Figures from Portuguese regulator Anacom show that there were around 3.35 million pay-TV subs in the country at the end of 2014; a 5.7% YoY increase, and representing a 56.5% penetration rate.
