Vestel Elektronik has released its first quarter results, posting a net loss in Q1 of 74.1 million Turkish lira (TRY) ($27.5 million) on turnover of TRY1.8 billion ($669.3 million), which compares with a net profit a year earlier of TRY51.4 million ($19.1 million) on turnover of TRY1.7 billion ($632.9 million).
The president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association, Gary Shapiro, has been named as a 2015 Tech Titan by Washingtonian magazine. Tech Titans are ‘the most influential and exciting people in the local technology scene’. Cisco has named Chuck Robbins as the company’s next CEO, with effect from 26th July. Robbins has been with Cisco since 1997, most recently serving as senior VP of worldwide operations. The company also announced that current CEO, John Chambers, will assume the role of executive chairman.
Dell has signed an agreement with Tech Data in the UK as part of its “omni-channel” strategy to provide resellers with a choice of buying options.
