SES, Samsung and BBC Send UltraHD HDR Over DVB

SES, Samsung and the BBC’s R&D team have demonstrated the world’s first DVB broadcast of UltraHD HDR content to a TV. The transmission was sent from an SES satellite, using DVB UltraHD Phase 1 specifications and the BBC’s HDR technology, to a Samsung SUHD (quantum dot) TV. The BBC’s Hybrid Gamma technology enables SDR content to be delivered to existing UltraHD TVs and HDR to new models, from the same content payload.
