LG Electronics reported net profit for Q3 2015 increased to KR₩ 124.8 billion ($106.8 million). Turnover for Q3 remained flat with a modest 0.7% increase to KR₩ 14.03 trillion ($12 billion). Each reporting segment saw an increase in turnover, particularly Home Entertainment, due to improved sales in UHD and OLED TVs.

Christie Lights Up CGV’s Starium

CGV, a cinema multiplex chain in South Korea, has installed Christie’s CP42LH laser projector in the CGV Starium, which houses a 32m-wide screen! The upgrade replaces an existing lamp-based Christie projector. The CP42LH is designed to achieve a brightness level of over 14ft-L in 3D on the large screen, and output up to 108,000 lumens.

Envivio Becomes Ericsson Subsidiary

Ericsson has completed its acquisition of video encoder specialist Envivio (Ericsson to Acquire Envivio). The transaction was completed through the merger of Ericsson’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Cindy Acquisition Corporation, with Envivio. Envivio will now act as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ericsson. The deal was worth approximately $125 million.
