November revenues for Chunghwa Picture Tubes fell 9.3% MoM and 23.7% YoY, to NT$3.8 billion ($115.4 million). January-to-November revenues were down 15.1% YoY, to NT$44 billion ($1.3 billion). CPT’s large-size panel shipments were down 22.2% MoM and 46.8% YoY in November. Small- and mid-size panel shipments rose 1.4% MoM, but fell 20.2% YoY.
Google has released a software update, which brings support for the 50Hz frame rate to its Chromecast dongle. Previously the device only ran content at 60Hz, the US TV standard, while European TV mostly uses 50Hz. The option can now be manually selected.

The Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC), of the USA, is preparing to approve 10 new candidate standards, which will be included in the final ATSC 3.0 specification, by the end of the year. These include video encoding, IP transport, electronic service guides and closed captioning.
