Google has developed new digital signage software for unusual video walls, which is available now as an open source project. AnyPixel.js can make pixels out of just about anything, from light boxes to balloons; Google’s New York office has a ‘video wall’ made of 5,880 coloured buttons. Each button performs a different action when pressed.
Acer’s consolidated revenues fell 1.9% YoY in May, although they were up 23.3% MoM, to NT$17.3 billion ($536.7 million). Through January-May, the company reported revenues of NT$87.7 billion ($2.7 billion), falling 13.7% YoY.
AUO‘s consolidated revenues in May rose 3.8% MoM, but fell 14.1% YoY, to NT$26.8 billion ($830 million). The firm made NT$123.7 billion ($3.8 billion) in the January-May period, falling 21.2% YoY. Worldwide semiconductor sales totalled $25.8 billion in April: down 1% MoM and 6.2% YoY, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). Quanta’s consolidated revenues rose 2.7% in MoM in May, but were down 9.1% YoY. Revenues reached NT$70.1 billion ($2.2 billion). Year-to-date revenues were NT$335.6 billion ($10.4 billion), down 4.1% YoY.
