French site, LesNumeriques.com, reports that Molotov.TV is offering streaming content in 720p and 1080p as well as UltraHD with the lowest resolution 720p content being free of charge. The 1080p and UltraHD streams are for paying customers and there around fifteen channels in better quality. The content is available to clients that have 12Mbps or more of bandwidth and H.265 is used for compression. Content can be played back on a range of smart devices including Sony Bravia UltraHD and Samsung 2017 Smart TVs as well as Apple TV 4K, Nvidia Shield and Chromecast Ultra. The company has a test programme to see if UltraHD can be displayed.
