Taiwanese Companies See Good September

Asustek Computer saw sales for September of NT$45.11 billion ($1.5 billion), up 19% MoM and 1% YoY, bringing Q3 branded revenue to NT$104.2 billion ($3.4 billion), an increase of 20% QoQ but down 3% YoY. Turnover to date was NT$311.49 billion ($10.3 billion), a drop of 7% YoY. The firm said that the release of its ZenFone 4 series of smartphones contributed to the month’s figures.

E Ink Holdings reported a 4-year high in September revenue thanks to 7″ ePaper shipments for Amazon’s Kindle. Monthly sales were NT$1.69 billion ($55.9 million), giving rises of 3% MoM and 11% YoY. Q3 turnover was NT$4.79 billion ($158.5 million), up 30% QoQ and 8% YoY.

Due to increased use of blue-light LEDs, Epistar saw September turnover of NT$2.48 billion ($81.9 million), up 6% MoM and 13% YoY, bringing Q3 revenue to NT$7.05 billion ($233.3 million), giving rises of 6% QoQ and 7% YoY. Sales to date were up 1% to NT$19.43 billion ($642.5 million).

Foxconn Electronics posted September turnover of NT$451.04 billion ($14.9 billion), up 42% MoM but down 4% YoY. This brought Q3 sales to NT$1.82 trillion ($60.2 billion), an increase of 17% QoQ but just 1% YoY. Year to date revenue reached NT$2.97 trillion ($98.2 billion), up 1% YoY. The company said that its main product lines all saw MoM rises in shipments.

Pegatron recorded September revenue of NT$153.66 billion ($5.1 billion), a leap of 72% MoM and up 2% YoY, thanks to increased iPhone 8 orders. This resulted in sales to date of NT$816.33 billion ($27.0 billion), a rise of 2% YoY.
