We reported on the new G2 monitor line in our IBC report (JVC Updates Monitor Range) but now the products are available and were shown at the NAB New York show. The new DT-V G2 line includes the 16.5″ DT-V17G25Z, which is a “near” EBU Grade 1 LCD monitor, as well as the 24″ DT-V24G2Z, 21.5″ DT-V21G2Z, and 16.5″ DT-V17G2Z models. The DT-V17G25Z and DT-V24G2Z each feature a 10-bit IPS panel, wide gamma range, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and integrated toolset. All models monitor up to 16 channels of embedded audio, while a new Lissajous meter displays the stereo field of a signal and shows possible phase issues. Other built-in features include a waveform monitor, vectorscope, histogram, zebra, four gamma preset modes, and a variety of on-screen markers. Two function keys allow users to save customized functions.
All monitors deliver 1920×1080 resolution except the DT-V24G2Z, which has 1920×1200 resolution. The V23G2Z has a 10 bit IPS panel with 400 cd/m² of output. The DT-V21G2 and DT-V17G2 have 300 cd/m² of luminance and the DT-V17G2 has 450 cd/m². All of the G2 range has 1,500:1 contrast.
“JVC has improved the gamma and greyscale of the DT-V G2 series to produce incredibly accurate colours, and added new technology specifically designed to eliminate digital aliasing and create more natural looking images,” said Craig Yanagi, product marketing manager, JVCKenwood USA.
The monitors support video formats including 3G-SDI and Dual Link with dual HD-SDI inputs, as well as HDMI, component and composite connectivity. Other features include colour temperature settings, time code display, SDI closed captioning support, built-in stereo speakers, and a tilt desk stand with two-way installation capability. The DT-V17G25Z and DT-V17G2Z also include a carrying handle.
The new DT-V G2 monitors are now available at the following MSRPs:
