Ikegami says they now have HLG installed on all their broadcast cameras plus support on some for PQ and SLog. Their 8K camera, the SHK 810 is in its fourth generation as a cooperative project with NHK. It was used at the Brazil Olympic games. They think the camera is now pretty small and practical.
The company also showed a prototype of a 55” 8K made by Ikegami. It looked dim and was said to not even be HDR capable. Nevertheless, they are looking at mass production in 2020.
In grading monitors, Ikegami has a 31” 4K version that is based on the Panasonic dual panel design. They have implemented the version with a non-dimmable backlight and a peak luminance of 1000 cd/m², as shown at IBC. The HQLM-3125X should be commercialized by the end of the year. It will support HLG and PQ input and will have Quad 3G, 12G-SDI and 3G-SDI interfaces.
Also coming is the HQLM-1720WR, a 17” HDR 4K monitor with similar electronic but with brightness of 450 cd/m² and contrast of 800:1. A more conventional 31” 4K/HDR monitor will be the HQLM-3120W which will offer 350 cd/m² and contrast of 1500:1. Also new are some HD monitors in 24”, 17”, and an 9” versions.- CC
