Igel Technology, a specialist in thin client systems, said that it had decided to support the VMWare ‘Blast Extreme Protocol’ in its thin clients, zero clients and AIO clients. The VMware Blast Extreme Protocol, a component of VMware Horizon 7, is VMware’s next-generation display protocol that uses industry-standard H.264 video compression to provide end-users with access to their desktops and applications hosted in centrally managed environments, while giving them the ability to do so using any number of desktop and mobile devices

Igel said that they wanted to support a ‘Next Generation’ codec. I think they will find that H.264 is now a ‘last generation’ codec, with H.265 as the current generation! (BR)
