TV service provider, Free, in France, which has been an innovator in the market, has been having a hard time recently, losing 70,000 subscribers and revenue in the first half of the year. To turn the business around, the company plans to release V7 of its FreeBox STB shortly and has said that it is very advanced and disruptive. The company has new offers from €9.99 to €19.99 for the first year.
Articles in the French press suggest that a key feature of the new box will be support for voice control.
