Calibre Boasts of 0.1-Second Black Time

Calibre UK (#3443) will be showing its HQUltra range of high-speed scaler-switchers for UltraHD content at Infocomm. These products use Calibre’s own virtual-ASIC video processing technology. The company will be present on Kramer Electronics’ stand.

HQUltra products are able to switch input channels in 0.25 seconds, even with different resolutions, formats and inputs. Black time when switching is said to be just 0.1 seconds. The products are also able to scale content to UltraHD, without artefacts and with low latency.

The first HQUltra models will be the HQView625 and HQView770. Kramer will be showing these as the VP-796 and VP-798, respectively.

The HQView625 has eight video inputs, including DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI-U, VGA, composite and HDBaseT. Outputs are HDMI (x2, supporting UltraHD at 60fps) and HDBaseT. Calibre’s HQView770 is a more powerful unit; it features pixel-accurate downscaling for LED video walls, with an algorithm developed in-house. The scaler also supports warp and blend. It features 10 video inputs and four outputs (including HDMI, HDBaseT and 3G HD-SDI).
