Vuzix Corporation, a leading supplier of Video Eyewear and Smart Glasses products in the consumer, commercial and entertainment markets, is pleased to announce today that its M100 Smart Glasses are now being used in a new HP solution, Visual Remote Guidance (VRG).

This solution was announced and showcased at the recent Interop IT Conference & Expo in Las Vegas and is being shown this week at HP Discover 2015 at the Sand Expo and Venetian also in Las Vegas. The Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses are a hands-free display and wearable computer, designed for the enterprise user. The M100 contains a virtual display with an integrated camera and a powerful processing engine. It allows the Android® OS to wirelessly connect via Bluetooth or WiFi directly to most standard networks or to a smartphone or other compatible device.

Visual Remote Guidance can be used for live collaboration between customers and remote service engineers via HP MyRoom, enabling real-time voice, video and content sharing. VRG allows a user to securely connect the latest wearable technology, including Vuzix’ M100 Smart Glasses, to the enterprise through the cloud.

Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix, said, “The more enterprise apps developed add to the growing value of Smart Glasses and the wearable market, which is expected to grow rapidly into a billion dollar industry. These solutions are applicable to so many industries and can drastically improve a company’s operational efficiency. We actively partner with some of the largest companies in a host of fields to deliver some of the top commercial and enterprise solutions on the market. We are very impressed by the HP solution and are happy they chose our M100 Smart Glasses to help deliver it to their clients.”

“We’ve taken our HP MyRoom environment which is fully encrypted and enterprise secure and integrated it with wearables like Vuzix’ M100, creating Visual Remote Guidance. VRG enables remote hands-free collaboration between a customer with a need or problem, and an expert providing the solution via detailed audio/video guidance. VRG can reduce both the time and cost to resolve issues,” said Garry Orsolini, Director of Technology, Education Services, Technology Services at HP. “We use Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses as a vehicle for our solution because they are powerful enough to do what we want and are among the best products in the wearable display space today.”
