Arçelik A.Ş. Joins Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Turkish manufacturing company Arçelik A.Ş. has become the first in the country to be added into the Dow Jones Sustainability Index’s emerging markets category.

Arçelik A.Ş. is the parent company of Beko and Grundig and has been manufacturing TVs and household appliances since its inception in 1955.

Hakan Bulgurlu, CEO of Arçelik A.Ş. said:

“We take great pride in reaping the fruit of our sustainability efforts by being listed in the industry-leading DJSI Emerging Markets. We are not only the first and only from the Turkish manufacturing industry but also among the top five companies which have been initially listed in the emerging markets category. This move represents a very important development for our company and stakeholders.

At the end of 2016, Arçelik A.Ş. was included in the FTSE4Good international stock market index which recognises the world’s top performing companies in terms of their sustainable development policy including environmental commitments, social practices and governance”.
