Optoma Launches Laser Version of 4K UHD65 Projector

Optoma, which claims to be the most successful brand of projector in Europe, based on data from PMA Research, has formally released the UHZ65 which we reported on from Infocomm and IFA (IFA 2017 Round Up) and which is based on the lamp-based UHD65. The UltraHD resolution single chip device has a laser phosphor light source and is compatible with HDR. HDCP 2.2 is supported to allow UHD content to be shown. Optoma said that colour is 80% of DCI-P3 and output is 3,000 ANSI lumens.

The projector has a 1.6X zoom lens with 1.39 – 2.22:1 throw ratio and +15º vertical lens shift. Features include PureMotion frame interpolation technology and connections are dual HDMI and MHL as well as VGA. Noise is 29dBa and there are dual 4W speakers with SPDIF out for digital audio.

List pricing in the UK is £4,999 ($5,470 + tax)
