German display specialist, Wammes & Partner from Gundersheim, near Frankfurt, in Germany, has said that in analysing the repairs and failures that it has seen over the last three years are not because of wrong operation or use, but are the result of poor choices in materials and components by manufacturers. The company said that “false adhesives are selected, coefficients of expansion are ignored, or the concentration of the display elements is underestimated. As the complexity of the devices increases, this means, among other things, contamination, overheating and failure”.
Wammes offers a service to evaluate problems and also to also plan requirements to ensure the functionality of electronic displays from the start.
