ViewSonic’s Bright Projector is Low Cost

ViewSonic’s PJD7822HDL is a bright home entertainment projector at a relatively low price point. Reaching 3,200 lumens and 1920 x 1080 resolution, the projector supports HDMI dongles such as the Chromecast. It will be available in North America and Europe this month, for $1,200.

The DLP projector has a 1.15 – 1.5:1 throw ratio; it is capable of throwing a 30″ – 300″ image from 1m – 10m from the projection surface. Contrast ratio is 15,000:1, with 10-bit colour.

To support installation, the PJD7822HDL has a 1.3x optical zoom (110 deg offset) and +/-40 deg keystone correction. A 210W top-loading lamp is used as the light source, lasting between 5,000 and 8,000 hours.

HDMI (x2), S-Video, component, composite, USB-A and mini-USB ports are featured, alongside a 2W speaker.

ViewSonic’s PJD7822HDL measures 268 x 221 x 84.4mm and weighs 2.1kg.
