Jenetech fingerprint scannerJenetric of Jena in Germay has developed a new fingerprint sensor that uses an optical TFT technology that also adds an area for display of instructions and prompts to users. The “Livetouch Quattro” technology is said to be two thirds smaller than conventional devices and has been certified to the FBI Mobile ID FAP 60 standard.
The firm said that the prisms, lenses and mirrors in conventional devices can be eliminated. The ability to display prompts, including animations, is likely to help a lot in self-service applications.
