Ultraleap Launches its Fifth-generation Hand Tracking Platform

What They Say

Ultraleap (the merged company from Ultrahaptics and Leap Motion) put out a press release that highlighted how the firm’s technology for finger tracking can be used to create a ‘touchless’ touch system for kiosks and self service operations. A significant change is that the sensors can now be mounted above the display and the technology now has better two handed integration and faster initialisation.

What We Think

Touchless technology has a clear appeal in these plague-ridden days. However, lacking some feedback from the system can make them harder and less intuitive to use. That’s where the focused ultrasonic haptics come in – the technology can ‘beam’ sensations to the user. BR)
