TCL Launches Its Biggest QD-MiniLED TV

The TCL 115″ X11G Max QD-Mini LED TV is the latest and biggest MiniLED TV from the company to be launched in China. In July, TCL had launched the C11G Pro Lingxi QD-MiniLED TV in China. The TCL C11G is available in 98-inch and 85-inch sizes, with 5,184 backlight partitions and a peak brightness of 5000 nits. There’s also a 75-inch variant with 3,024 backlight partitions and a peak brightness of 3000 nits.

The X115G has 20,000 backlight partitions and a peak brightness of 5000 nits, claiming a contrast ratio of 50 million:1. New panel technology from TCL is supposed to get better contrast, and faster response times for this new display. The X115G also has a new processor, the Lingyao M2 (which according to most reports is a MediaTek processor or comparable design) and a TCL-developed TXR MiniLED image quality enhancement chip.

Partnering with Onkyo Audio, the TV offers 6.2.2 Hi-Fi audio and 10-channel hardware-level surround sound. The upgraded smart control desktop seems geared towards enhancing user convenience. Fast startup times, removal of startup ads, and quick application opening are some of the touted features.

The product is priced at around $11,000. So, that seems like an exciting product, although there are some doubts about how good the product are and, meanwhile, the North American market is getting something that is a world away with a world’s difference in core technology.

Meanwhile in North America: TCL Targets Football Season

TCL has released a new 98” Smart S Class TV, the 98” S5, in North America. In line with its partnership with the National Football League, TCL is providing a discount of $200 on the NFL Sunday Ticket from YouTube and YouTube TV for those purchasing the 98” S5 by September 19, 2023. The TV is available for presale with an MSRP of $4,999.99. No one is certain where that last penny has gone.
