Sony has introduced a dual-projection solution for its existing SRX-R515 projector at Cinemacon 2015. The SRX-R515DS is a stacked configuration (vertically or side-by-side) that can deliver up to 30,000 lumens of light output.
Using two projectors, Sony’s new product can achieve ‘reference light levels’ for 2D presentation, on screens up to 19.5m wide. Brightness can reach 14ft-L on a screen with a gain of 1.8. For 3D imagery, on silver screens up to 23m with a gain of 2.4, brightness can reach 4.5ft-L.
