Boothless Cinemas Supported by NEC

NEC’s NC1201L is an addition to the laser projector range, introduced recently at Cinemacon in Las Vegas. (Lasers Light Up CinemaCon 2015). Designed for boothless cinemas with screens up to 12m wide, the projector is designed as a compact model, with an integrated media server (NP90MS02, with 2TB storage and USB 3.0 and RJ45 connectivity).

A sealed optical engine and laser engine with circulating air cooling are intended to minimise dust and smoke ingress. Maintenance requirements are lower because of this, says NEC. Power consumption is 1.3kW.

Like last year’s NC1100L, the NC1201L’s laser light source offers high uniformity and 30% – 100% brightness adjustments. The projector will be available in the autumn.
